The Venue

THE RAVENSWOOD, EAST GRINSTEAD

The Ravenswood was built in part during the reign of Henry VI in the year 1426, though of this original structure little remains and that that does, is now confined mainly to the core of the present building, which the majority of, was erected during the mid and latter years of Queen Victoria.

We chose this venue because we want to have an outdoor ceremony with the option of a nice indoor ceremony room if the weather turns. The building and grounds are beautiful with different spaces for guests to mingle. And they have fairy lights!

Important Information

The venue will be cashless, so if you would like to purchase drinks at the bar then it will be card payments only.

There are still rooms left at the venue for guests wishing to spend the night. These include breakfast the next morning. If you haven’t booked a room already we’d love it if you could spend the night!

Travel & Transport

Car Train Taxi Plane

The Ravenswood is located off the A23, near the villages of Horsted Keynes and Ardingly.

The Ravenswood, Cinder Hill, Sharpthorne, East Grinstead RH19 4HY

Closest station is Haywards Heath although a taxi will be required from the station.

From Gatwick Airport a taxi should take 22 minutes to get to the venue. From Haywards Heath a taxi should take 14 minutes.

If flying in you have a number of options:

Heathrow: Catch the Elizabeth Line to Farringdon Station, then a Thameslink train south to Haywards Heath. Alternatively you can take a Piccadilly Line tube from the airport to King's Cross St Pancras, then a Thameslink to Haywards Heath - Around 1 hour 30 minutes.

Gatwick: Take a Thameslink or Southern Train to Haywards Heath - Around 15 minutes.

Luton: Take a Thameslink to Haywards Heath - Around 2 hours.

Stanstead: Take the Stanstead Express to London Liverpool Street, then an Elizabeth Line train to Farringdon and a Thameslink south to Haywards Heath - Around 1 hour 30 minutes
